This is the time in one's life
We get to break away from grief & strife..
A time to laugh
And maybe even a little gas....
A time to get with long time friends
And hoping the good times never ends...
A time for family
And hoping for that last piece of turkey or candy!!!
May one and all
Recieve those long waited calls..
May no-one be alone
And enjoy the calls on the phone.
May those who travel
Stay off the gravel...
May those who drink
Remember to think!!!
May no-one go hungry
And let's not just think of money...
A homemade gift or a small toy was still meant to bring joy
Wishing one and all a Safe and Merry Christmas & may all be warm and well fed in their beds!!!

Times Are Hard... BUT!!!!

Times are hard, but...
We need to look at what we have.
Our children so beautiful when they are sleeping and even kinda lovable when they misbehave!!!
A warm bed to sleep in
And hopefully a potatoe or two in the fridge bin..
So, try to smile and a hopefull grin
and keep storing those dimes in a tin!!!
The season is apon us
When we feel we must shop and shop till we bust
both in the pocketbook
And in our wallets when can we say enough is enough!!!
So, at this time of year
Try to take cheer
And if you can't afford a lot
Be happy with the little things you bought!!
For truly it is not the size of gift that counts
And one does not want to hide from debtors willing to pounce!!
So make a gift, share a smile
For the season doesn't last that long but love sure lasts a long long while...

Canada Day!!!

Canada Day....
Canada is a country full of love, a bit of everything, a season for everyone
All are welcome here and many have come and stayed
Never a dull moment for one and all
Angels have kissed our shores, mountains, rivers and stream, our great lakes, and fields of plenty...
Dasies sprinkle fields, fish swim in our waters, birds sing in the trees...
All types of animals and birds grace our shores and our hills...
Deliver up sweet tasting Maple Syrup when it is too cold to grow other sweet treats
Apples, pears, peaches, plums, blueberries, strawberries, rasphberries, black berries, etc. grace our plates...
Yams, turnip, potatoes, tomatoes, etc.... grace our feasts....
Besides all the wonder gifts that we can find in this land of ours, we are able to walk freely....
We can walk down our streets and smile at passerbys, we can go hiking in our woods without fear....
No guns or weapons destory our views here, no fear of our children dying in war or in hunger!!!
We can go to school, start a business, travel from shore to shore.....
We are indeed blessed in this beautiful land of ours!!!
Enjoy the day, the moment, the year!!!!

Father's Day!!!

I wrote this for a friend who's Grandpa passed away, but I think it says a lot for Father's Day....
We all have the fathers or brothers or uncles or grandpas that we loved and this is the day to remember them!!
They called him junkyard grandpa
But oh the things they found when they saw...
That what one classed as junk was really someone else's treasure
And sure did fill our little hearts with lots of fun and pleasure!!!
How his garden grew
And his strict and stern ways showed me through....
For with each word of praise, he filled my heart with pride
And how we loved to travel with him and go for a short ride!!!
They only saw the gruff side
But that was only cause he was trying to hide
The tear of joy when they succeeded
Even if they didn't realize it was with strength and determination that they succeeded!!!
Yes, junkyard grandpa was quite a man
He loved the land and took a stand...
You didn't get away with being second best
Nope he expected the best and until then you could not rest!!!
But, in the end,
He may have been...
Junkyard grandpa to them
But, to me, he was my best friend!!!

Mother's Day!!!

Happy Mother's Day
Everyday should be mother's day
Never take for granted love that is unconditional
Love that holds you when you are happy
Love that holds you when you are sad
Love that shares all life's percious moments
Love united!!!
Sometimes it is hard to know what makes a mother!!!
She doesn't have to be blood
She only needs to be there
To hold when sick
To stand beside when needing that extra push
To make one laugh when all you can do is cry
To let one know it is okay if you don't succeed as long as you tried!!!
A mother loves without conditions
She doesn't care if you are skinny or fat
She doesn't care if you are beautiful or ugly, for in her eyes you are pericous...
She doesn't care if you are gay, straight or have no interest in sex, full of tattoos, grouchy, sloppy, picky, etc...
She doesn't care if you don't know everything, and she doesn't care if you live in a tent or an apartment
She only cares that you are happy, she only cares that no-one hurts you...
She is after all just a mother, one of god's gifts to all...
She can be a mother to those who don't have a mother!!!
So, give her a smile, say mom I love you just the way you are!!!
